The Opera Guild of San Antonio was formed in 1974 (read more) to promote awareness and enjoyment of opera in the San Antonio area at a time when there was no opera being produced in the region.  We have never had an affiliation with any opera company.  

We currently focus on Opera Education, including our Opera in the Schools Touring Program, Opera for Middle and High School Students, and Teacher's Guides.  This year, we commissioned a children’s opera about Texas hero Jose Antonio Navarro.  A documentary and a performance are available for viewing.  

We also have adult opera education programs, including a video study course, lectures, and trips to see operas.  

There are many benefits to membership  as well as exciting volunteer opportunities.
